Why family photography in Flevoland
Your family with water and room to move
Family photography in Flevoland feels manageable. The province was laid out deliberately, so parks, woods and banks usually sit close to the neighbourhood. That means short routes with small children and little time lost getting to the location.
Water works well with children. A small beach on the Eemmeer or the bank of the Weerwater gives them something to do: throwing stones, paddling, walking the waterline. Photographs appear in between, while nobody feels that something is required of them.
The young woods around Lelystad and Zeewolde are a good alternative when it is windy or the sun sits too high. Slender trunks let more light through than old forest, so it stays soft under the trees without going dark.
I plan around your family, not the reverse. Sleep, meals, children's energy: we discuss this in advance. A family session should fit your day out, not sit on top of it.
Family photographer in Flevoland
Many families here choose green space or water close to home. The banks of the Weerwater in Almere, the beaches on the Eemmeer near Zeewolde and the planted woods around Lelystad are favourites. Almere also has city parks that are easy to walk with a pram.
For families I choose the time of day around the children rather than around the drive. Almere, Zeewolde and Lelystad are roughly 1.5–2 hours from Groningen, so we usually plan a session in the late afternoon: no early-morning rush, and the light falls well.
Outdoor sessions need flexibility. In the polder wind is more often the theme than rain. Woodland edges and quaysides give shelter, and a city park in Almere works well when it really blows.
Wide banks and straight paths work well for children. No crowds, still room to explore. Parents relax; I photograph what unfolds.

Getting to know you
We talk about your family: ages, personalities, what you want to remember. A new baby, a first year abroad, or simply time together before everyone grows another inch. I advise on location, timing and clothing in plain English: practical, unhurried, no pressure. Everyone knows what to expect, including the children.

The session
On location I follow your family's rhythm. Walk, play, pause for a snack. Family photography happens in between, not in stiff poses. I guide gently when it helps and step back when it does not. Sessions stay relaxed because children are allowed to be children. The goal is connection you recognise, not a performance for the camera.

Your gallery
I select the images that tell your story: laughter, quiet glances, small details. After editing you receive a private online gallery to share with grandparents abroad or keep for yourselves. A family session should give you photographs you will still love in twenty years, on the wall and in an album.

I am based in Groningen and travel throughout Flevoland for sessions. Almere, Lelystad, Zeewolde, Dronten and beyond.
Edited photos are delivered within three weeks via a private online gallery. If anything shifts, I will let you know in good time.
For bookings within a 15 km radius of postcode 9734 AW, I don't charge any travel fees. For locations beyond that, travel costs are charged at €0.40 per kilometre.
Northern weather can be beautiful on camera. If rain or wind makes an outdoor session impractical, we choose shelter, an indoor setting, or reschedule. We always plan a backup.
Yes. Additional edited images are €5 each. You can take your time selecting from the online gallery.
